I struggle to fall asleep at night a lot and for the first time in a extremely long, struggling until 4am i finally fell asleep to just have a very disturbing dream. I moved to the big city, and i was excited but my family and friends weren't for me and kept saying it was a mistake. Regardless this my close relations still came with me. We get to the City, to my place, and i remember thinking the place is kinda a dumb. The flat i was renting was nice in the beginning and i was happy, my flat in practicular but not so much the building. There is this blonde woman that is also living in the building that kept warning all of us to be careful and that the landlord is a unfair person. We ignored her cause my flat was so nice. My reltions on the other hand was happy but as I was looking around i started to notice how some of the things were actually very crappy. The place was loosing its glow and looking very old and dysfunctional but my relations ensured this is all in my head. This is when my dream went from day to quickly dark and gloomy, darker and darker as time went by. By the end i wanted to get use to the place so i tried to clean it and to unpack, but my close relations decided to go to the city and go explore it, leaving me to get use to the place. Being alone i saw it better, it wasn't bad but it was in a very bad condition. My sister, (someone i do not get along with at all) decided to visit me but i told her she was not allowed to come into my place. She goft angry, (as she does in real life) demanding why other could enter but not me but i said i did not wish her to come into my place. She than started to force past me but i closed the doors, took a broom and pushed her back, she than aggressively grabbed it and pulled me too her. She was becoming bigger and looked very demonic. She than told me i shouldn't think of myself so highly and warned whatever i do i wont get rid of her, wont succeed in anything. I hated being touch by her and how she looked and how it made me feel made me even more disturd. She than left, looking to me like the devil in my opinion. This made me feel even more disturd and uncomfortable in the place cause she claimed she will continue to live in the city and i have a look out for her. My other relations returned from their visit to the city and saw as i was very much unseddle and disturd. I never told of what happened but told how i didnt wish to live alone anymore. They said i am grown and i shouldn't allow my nerves to takeover. They told me of the people they had met and how they will visit often, but my ex (we been broken up for a month now) had saw my distress and conforted me. My close relations did not want to deal with me and decided to go out and have fun again. We didn't speak much but time had past and he said i should get use to the city and just meet people, if make me more relax. I agree but than saw it was pitch black outside and maybe midnight. He had decided he wanted to get some weed or some short of substance and asked me to come with. We walk down the streets and there are a lot of dark figures around. I couldn't make them out, I couldn't really see how they look, but they were homeless people. The further we went down the streets it became darker and more disturbing, even he at some point got scared and i was as we continued to walk. One of the black figures approuched us and he said that he was looking for weed. The homeless male offered to give us but we felt so unease with him. When he went to the the tent to get the substance my ex told me we should run. We ran, we ran away quickly down the road that was very curvey. The homeless guy had the stuff and saw we were gone and he and all of his homeless, black figure beings, ran after us. We thought we got away but than saw this overflow of black figures chasing us. We got to my apartment but he decided to go another way anr i should go inside as he runs off. I listen and they follow him. As i stood inside of the building i am worried for him and want to make sure he is okay but than saw one of the figures seeing me and trying to come into the building. This is when i woke.
Dreams can often reflect our waking thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Your dream contains several symbols and themes that can be interpreted in various ways:
Relocation and Uncertainty: Moving to a big city often symbolizes new beginnings, opportunities, or challenges. Your initial excitement may reflect a desire for change or growth, but the doubts expressed by friends and family could represent your own insecurities about this transition. The dream reflects an internal struggle between excitement for what’s new and apprehension about the unknown.
The Warning from the Blonde Woman: This figure may symbolize your intuition or a voice of caution that you are ignoring. Her warning about the landlord could represent external forces or situations in your life that are unfair or deceptive. Ignoring her advice may suggest a tendency to overlook potential red flags in your choices.
Deteriorating Environment: The change in the apartment's condition mirrors your feelings about your new situation. Initially, it seems exciting but soon reveals its flaws, indicating that your expectations may not align with reality. This could symbolize the pressure to maintain a positive outlook despite underlying discomfort or dissatisfaction.
Conflict with Your Sister: The presence of your sister, who you do not get along with, could reflect unresolved issues or inner conflict. Her aggressive behavior and the transformation into a demonic figure may represent your fears or anxieties about familial relationships or self-worth. Closing the door to her signifies a desire to protect yourself from negativity, but her insistence suggests feelings of being trapped or unable to escape certain dynamics in your life.
Being Alone and Vulnerable: Throughout the dream, there’s a theme of isolation, especially when your loved ones leave you to deal with your feelings alone. This can symbolize feelings of abandonment or being misunderstood in your current circumstances. Your wish to not be alone highlights a need for support and connection.
The Dark Figures: The homeless individuals in your dream might represent fears, insecurities, or parts of yourself that feel lost. Their threatening presence could indicate feelings of anxiety or being overwhelmed by societal issues or personal fears about your safety and well-being.
The Chase: The chase sequence reflects feelings of panic and the instinct to flee from discomfort or danger. It may symbolize an attempt to escape from overwhelming emotions or situations in your life.
End of the Dream: The fear for your ex’s safety suggests lingering emotional ties from your recent breakup and concern for others' well-being, indicating compassion despite your turmoil. However, locking yourself inside reflects a retreat into your own mental space in response to fear, possibly illustrating how you might feel overwhelmed by external circumstances.
Overall, this dream appears to reflect your struggles with change, feelings of insecurity, and the complexities of your relationships. It’s a call for self-reflection on how you handle transitions in your life, the interpersonal dynamics that affect you, and your emotional state regarding the new phase you’re entering. You might consider these themes as you navigate your waking life, focusing on self-care, support systems, and addressing any underlying fears or anxieties.
